Like Blu, Tony was also part of the music industry and worked with Blu on her album From L.A. to L.O. The British tabloid, The Sun, once reported on the couple in 2003 when Blu was breaking into the music world.
The article from The Sun mentioned that Blu’s boyfriend, Tony DeNiro, was involved in a brawl that broke out right when they were leaving the exclusive Le Milliardaire Club in Paris.
The brawl broke out after DeNiro demanded that the chart-topper signer get paid in full despite signing only two songs from her album. On their way out, the brawl spilled into the street, and Tony was struck in the face with a glass ashtray.
The Sun reported that the singer was worried that her boyfriend could lose sight in one of his eyes. But after that incident, the couple fell off from the public eye.
Relationship With P Diddy
An extract from her interview with The Guardian in 2003 hints at her weird relationship with P Diddy. In the interview, Blu shared how she had done a nude photoshoot when she was 18 for some money.
But now that Blu had become a famous name, the singer was scared someone would bring out those photos from years ago in public. Talking to The Guardian, Blu said she confronted about this topic to P Diddy.
And in Cantrell’s own words, Diddy told her, “Well, I’ve seen you nude. And you looked cute, babe.”
Though Blu doesn’t admit to dating Diddy in the interview, it is clear that the two are very comfortable around each other.
But it isn’t her relationship with Diddy that makes headlines. It is the one with Jay-Z that gets everyone talking, even today.

Blu Cantrell and Jay-Z’s relationship rumors have been going on since the early 2000s. Many speculate that Jay-Z left Blu for Beyonce back in 2001.
In 2003, Blu called up one and only Wendy Williams so she could interview her for her sophomore CD, So Blu. The 2003 interview is available on YouTube, and the duo isn’t afraid to talk about Jay-Z and Beyonce.
During their conversation, Williams asks Cantrell, “Have you ever kissed Jay-Z romantically?.” Cantrell smiles but hesitates and says she can’t answer that question.
Cantrell then says, “Why can’t people let Jay-Z-Blu Cantrell thing go?” Williams keeps coercing Blu to give her a straightforward answer.
But the singer goes for the safer options and says the press made a huge deal of their relationship when they had only hung out once.
Wendy further implies that she knew Jay-Z wouldn’t date Blu as she was over 25 and wasn’t naive. To this date, many raise eyebrows over Jay-Z and Beyonce’s relationship. Jay-Z began dating the former Destiny Child member when she was only 18.
The Drama Between The Three
It is well known that the Carters aren’t the perfect couple. In her 2016 album Lemonade, Beyonce admitted that her husband cheated on her with “Becky with good hair.”
Many fans have also tried to imply that the couple named their first daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, after the singer.
In 2012, Cantrell congratulated the Carters from her Twitter handle. Blu wrote, “Of course, I want to congratulate Jay-Z & Beyonce on having a healthy and happy baby girl!! I love her name :-).”
