Ruby Dawn Hall’s parents, Jaxin and Natalie Hall know more than one or two things about the public limelight. This is especially applicable to Ruby’s dad, Jaxin Hall.
Native to New Zealand, Jaxin moved to the US for a six-month adventure trip, but little did he know what was about to come for him. Before moving to the US, Jaxin had already begun his acting career.
In the local series Rude Awakenings, he played Danielle Cormack’s teenage son, Julian Rush. Jaxin also starred in the TV series Shortland Street, but the actor wanted more out of his career, and one day, he disappeared to the US.
Once he touched American soil, Jaxin started a heavy metal band. It wasn’t something Jaxin ever planned. He founded the group Of Mice & Men in mid-2009 with lead vocalist Austin Carlie, who had just left Attack Attack! The band released its debut album, Of Mice & Men, in 2010, and soon Hall left the band to focus on his personal life.
Jaxin And Natalie Hall Discuss Their Family Life
While Jaxin was making music with his band, he met his wife, Natalie Hall. They came across during a party organized by one of Jaxin’s friends.
In their interview with Now To Love, Natalie said she almost didn’t attend the party. Natalie, a graduate of Orange Coast College in Fashion Merchandising, previously worked for the shoe brand Vans.
She worked at Volcom as a production intern in 2011 and later at Hurley as a technical assistant. Mrs. Hall joined Vans in 2015 as part of their social media team, and after working for seven years, she left in October 2022.
It was love at first sight for the Kiwi boy and the American girl. Jaxin recalled thinking Natalie would help him keep grounded, and Natalie believed Jaxin was the complete package.
They both were into marrying and becoming young parents. It was Natalie who suggested marriage first after Jaxin’s visa neared expiration.
In their conversation with Now To Love, Jaxin said he was hesitant to turn Natalie’s dream wedding into an immigration-driven event.
But after discussing, Jaxin concluded that it was more about not cutting their relationship short rather than Natalie helping him stay in America.
The two had a courthouse registry, sorted Jaxin’s visa, and then enjoyed a California wedding with family in 2012.

Jaxin Hall Is Also A Designer
After quitting music, Jaxin began to focus on his clothing brand. He started the brand Love Before Glory but didn’t see much success. Jaxin tweaked the company logo and changed the company’s name to Key Street.
After the slight tweak, Jaxin’s brand saw more success than ever before. He came up with the graphics and products, and as said by him, Jaxin draws inspiration from modern and old-school tattoo trends.
The dad-of-two has also said his childhood phase, which he spent skateboarding in New Zealand, contributed to the design and aesthetic elements of the company.
The clothing brand also has its own skate team, with famous names like Dave Bachinsky, Garret Hill, and Kris Markovich skating for the pro team.
Hall Family’s Return To New Zealand
In 2019, the Hall family relocated to Jaxin’s homeland, New Zealand. At the time, Jaxin signed with an agent and decided to sign up his daughter, Ruby as well.
After returning to New Zealand, Jaxin decided to give his acting career another go. And after 20 years, he returned to the TV series Shortland Street as youth pastor Scott Lawson.
He also directed and starred in a Star Wars short film, After Endor, released via YouTube. He cast Ruby as his daughter and did the same in the short movie Forever.

The Star Wars actress Ruby Dawn Hall has one sibling, a brother named Nikau. Jaxin and Natalie call their youngest child Rainbow Baby.
The reason behind that title is special. Ruby was born in 2013, and nine months later, Natalie became pregnant with their second child.

But after seeing her baby’s heartbeat, Natalie prepared herself and felt excited. But at 12 weeks, Natalie and Jaxin received the heartwrenching news that Natalie had miscarried.
Jaxin said during that difficult time, it was their daughter Ruby that helped them heal. The actor said, “We could hold her and go, “If this is all we’re supposed to have, that’s OK.”
