Meet Ivan Morris Howe’s Parents- Jeni And Jonathan Howe
Ivan Morris Howe’s parents, Jeni and Jonathan Howe, are natives of Millbrook, New York. Unlike some child celebrities whose parents are part of the entertainment industry, Ivan’s story is a tad bit different.
Neither Jeni nor Jonathan are movie actors or have previously worked behind the sets on any movies. Ivan’s dad, Jonathan Howe, is a science teacher at Millbrook School.
He is a Radnor High School graduate and later received his B.A. from Princeton University. Jonathan went on to complete his M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Before taking up the role of science teacher at Millbrook School, Jonathan worked at Dutchess Day School. Though Jonathan has an Instagram handle, he has kept his profile private, and on Facebook, he has only shared a few pictures.
Ivan’s mom, Jeni Howe, is a Colby College graduate. Previously, Jeni worked alongside another Colby graduate, Amanda McGovern, in the Seas It Foundation, which provided recreational grants to cancer patients and their families.
Unlike, her husband, Jeni has shared several family photographs on her Facebook handle. The pictures date back to when Ivan was a toddler.
After his series, Eric premiered, Ivan shared a family photograph. He captioned the post, “ERIC premiered yesterday! Loved getting to share it with my friends and family.”
He shared a group photo involving his parents and two siblings. In the later slides, he also included his close friends who had come to support him.
With his parents not much involved in the entertainment industry, Ivan was introduced to acting by his best friend, Harriet Luongo. In his interview with The Lakeville Journal, the young actor talked about his acting journey.
Howe said, “I actually saw her [Harriet] in “Oliver!” five to seven years ago. I thought it was super cool, her acting on stage, and I thought I wanted to give it a try, so my mom signed me up for another theater group called SRO- Standing Room Only- and then I did this [Oliver!] and one school play.

Ivan Morris Howe’s Siblings: The Actor Is One Of Three Kids
Ivan Morris is the youngest of three kids of Jeni and Jonathan Howe. He has two older siblings, Reid and Michaela Howe.
Ivan’s older brother, Reid Howe, will be graduating from high school this year. On his Instagram handle, Reid has showcased his interests in sports.
He has shared photographs of him playing soccer, golf, and lacrosse. Ivan’s older brother also recently shared photos from his prom night.
Michaela Howe is the older sister of the young actor and is in her junior year at Loomis Chaffee School. At Loomis, Michaela has shown interest in horseriding, with the school magazine previously sharing pictures of Michaela and her friends at a horse stable.

Ivan Receives Praises From Co-Star Benedict Cumberbatch
In the London premiere of Eric, Benedict Cumberbatch was full of praises for his little co-star. The British actor said as a veteran, they try to protect the first experience of any young child actor.
But to Benedict’s surprise, young Ivan was a professional from the get-go. The Sherlock actor also said there were times when Ivan would get critical of his American accent.
The series is set in 1980s New York, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Gaby Hoffman playing Vincent and Cassie Anderson, parents of the nine-year-old child, Edgar (Ivan Morris Howe).
Eric isn’t based on a true-life story but is meant to evoke a time and a place, including the “stranger danger” panic of the 1980s. The series writer, Abi Morgan, stated that the show is based on the dark shadows of an era.
She said, “It’s an era of the mid-80s when the AIDs epidemic was hitting, there was systematic racism within several institutions in New York, there was gentrification in the city happening at the same time as low-income families were struggling to find places to live.
