Tyus Jones and his better half, Carrie Jones, have been together for a long time. As per his now-deleted Instagram post, Jones had been dating Carrie for years before 2019. It was on September 29, 2019, when the basketball star proposed to his then-girlfriend, getting on one knee.
After Carrie said “Yes” to his marriage proposal, he shared their lovey-dovey engagement pictures and announced their wedding with a caption writing;

After a couple of months, the Washington Wizards point guard’s then-fiancée announced her pregnancy. She confirmed the news via her Facebook post on November 16, 2019, stating;

After the birth of their son Tyus Jr. on May 5, the athlete shared the first picture of the little one on his Instagram account on January 1, 2021.
Finally, Tyus Jones married the love of his life, Carrie Yeakey, on August 7, 2021, in the presence of their baby boy, parents, siblings, and other family.

Tyus Jones was born Tyus Robert Jones on May 10, 1996, in Burnsville, Minnesota, to parents Debbie Jones and Robert Jones.

His father was a player at Wisconsin-Parkside, and his mother was a Devils Lake High School point guard. In fact, she was a part of the team that won a North Dakota State Championship in 1981.
Tyus shared his childhood with his three siblings, Tre Jones, Jadee Jones, and Reggie Bunch. As basketball was a family affair, he, alongside his two siblings, also followed their parent’s footsteps.
While the older brother, Jadee, played at Minnesota State (2008-2009) and Furman (2005-2007), his younger sibling, Tre, played at Duke. On the other hand, his other brother, Reggie, is a former American football running back.
Tyus Jones’ Mother Is A Cancer Survivor
Tyus, who looks up to his mother, Debbie Jones, as his inspiration, was shaken to the core after receiving a call from her revealing about her breast cancer diagnosis in 2019.
As soon as he discovered this heartbreaking news, he took a backseat from his basketball journey and completely focused on supporting his mother.
Remembering his mother’s words when he first had an aspiration to play basketball professionally, he reminded her of the same and encouraged her to start chemotherapy. With her family’s support, she stayed positive and began her treatment with promising results.
Finally, after nine months of chemotherapy, Tyus Jones’ mom survived her breast cancer battle. This horrifying experience with Debbie deeply affected the NBA star that he and his brother, Tre, teamed up with the American Cancer Society to promote cancer awareness and research.
