Jahaan Ansari Made It To The Forbes List In 2023 As One Of The 30 Under 30 Entrepreneur In The Food And Drinks Category

The Bachelorette contestant who has made the most noise among fans is Jahaan Ansari, the Forbes alum. The young CEO started his company in 2017— they made $20 million in revenue in 2023.

With his business partner, Eric Wu, Ansari co-founded the protein powder company Gainful, which can be purchased online, and since last year, it is also available in Target.

A UC Berkeley graduate, the entrepreneur is a man with brains and brawn. Ansari is new to the entertainment world and has no family members like fellow Bachelorette contestant Aaron Erb, who has previously participated in the show.

We aren’t sure if Jahaan can win this season’s leading lady Jenn Tran’s heart, but he has surely won the hearts of many women watching him on their TV screens. A few fans have speculated that Jahaan might get his own season. Other contestants eyeing to be Jenn’s future husband are Austin Ott, Dylan Buckor, and Devin Strader.

Jahaan Ansari Was Part Of 30 Under 30 List

Jahaan Ansari, age 28, a fan-favorite contestant, has been featured on the 30 Under 30 Forbes List. Ansari, who has Persian roots, with his business partner, Eric Wu, made it to the Forbes list in the Food & Drink category in 2023.

The two met as co-captains of their high school soccer team and later co-founded Gainful, a personalized protein powder company. Jahaan and Eric started the company in 2017, and last year, in January 2023, four years after its launch, the company generated more than $20 million in revenue.

One of the company’s core investors includes NBA legend Pau Gasol. Ansari can be seen promoting his products on his various social handles. Ansari has done a few questionnaires on his company’s TikTok handle, during which he revealed his favorite Gainful product— the protein powder.

During the Q&A, Jahaan also revealed a few personal stuff, like if he had to change his name, he would choose Giovani. He also said his biggest pet peeve is people walking slowly on the sidewalk.

In March 2023, Gainful reached another milestone. Jahaan announced that Gainful will now be available at all Target stores nationwide. He shared a photo of him and Eric holding Gainful and squatting outside Target.

He captioned the post, “So incredibly proud of the Gainful team for pulling off this incredible achievement and thankful for the Target team for putting their trust in us to deliver the first-ever personalized nutrition experience in a retail aisle.”

As a nutrition-focused company’s co-founder, Jahaan also makes sure to show off his gains on his Instagram handle. Previously, Jahaan shared a photo showing his ripped body doing battle ropes in the gym.

In June, Gainful’s TikTok handle also shared a video of Jahaan challenging his employees on who can do the most pull-ups. The founder ended up beating his employees as he managed to do a whopping 29 pull-ups.

Jahaan Previously Worked At Target

Ansari, who seems to have been brought up in California, graduated from Newbury Park High School. During high school, Jahaan had shown interest in running and chess.

He had previously completed cross country in 2011 while studying in the 11th Grade. Jahaan is also extremely competitive when it comes to chess, and as his ABC bio reads, “If you challenge Jahaan to a game of chess, you’ll most likely lose.

After graduating from Newbury Park, Jahaan enrolled at the prestigious University of California, Berkeley, to study chemical engineering and computer science. While at Berkeley, Jahaan was part of the Energy Biosciences Institute.

In one of his celebratory posts about Gainful being available on Target, Jahaan mentioned that he used to work as a cashier at Target. He said it was a full-circle moment seeing Gainful on Target’s shelves.

Before establishing Gainful with Eric, Jahaan worked at Johnson&Johnson as an Engineering Co-op for seven months and later as a Digital Innovation Co-op. He also worked for 11 months at Clover Network as a Date Science Co-op before he joined forces with Eric and established Gainful.

Who Are Jahaan Ansari’s Parents? Does He Have A Brother?

Jahaan has previously shared a few family photographs on his Instagram handle. The Gainful’s co-founder has no brother but has an older sister named Shayda Ansari.

Jahaan’s dad, Shariar “Shawn” Ansari, is a Purdue University graduate. Jahaan seems to have followed in his father’s footsteps, as the elder Ansari also graduated with a chemical engineering degree.

Shariar also has a business degree from Purdue, which he has used to his advantage. Mr. Ansari previously worked at the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly and was their Manufacturing Department Head.

He worked at Eli Lilly until 2005, reaching the Manager/Director of Site Facilities position. In 2005, Shariar joined Amgen, a Biotechnology company, where he worked as a Director in various positions, including Clinical Manufacturing and Head of Facilities & Engineering.

After working seven years at Amgen, Shariar joined the pharmaceutical company Shire and later at Baxter International. He re-joined Shire in 2016 and became their VP of Head Engineering and Validation.

In February 2024, Shariar became Danaher Corporation’s Vice President of Global Operations. He was also previously the Vice-President of Sotera Health.

Jahaan’s sister, Shayda Ansari, is an Eberhardt School of Business graduate and works as a Talent Acquisition Manager at Slalom. Like, her brother, Shayda, was a track and field athlete and a soccer athlete.
