In the age of social media, it didn’t come as a shock when fans found out that Larsen and Gavin met through Instagram. The couple debuted their romance for the first time in 2016 as they shared a photo of one another on their Instagram handle.
Gavin captioned the post, “I like California,” and Larsen wrote, “I like Texas,” with the two mentioning each others’ hometown. In a 2018 vlog video, Thompson mentioned she and Gavin met through Instagram.
