On May 16, 2021, Buchanan and his ‘He’s All That’ co-star Addison Rae went to present the Best Kiss Award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards to winners Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline (the Outerbanks co-stars).
At the stage, the duo, who played on-screen love interests, shared a kiss, which went buzzing over the internet. It led to swirls of rumors that Tanner and Lizze broke up, and the former was dating Rae.
