Joey and Steven knew they wanted to tie the knot overseas. They looked for something unique and private and landed on La Fortaleza in Mallorca. Joey described the place as the Spanish version of The Great Gatsby.
But before they tied the knot in Mallorca, Steven and Joey had to get legally married in the States. The Kissing Booth actress only revealed this in a post she shared on February 14, 2024. Steven and Joey legally tied the knot on August 19, 2023, in Los Angeles in an intimate ceremony.
The actual wedding ceremony in Mallorca took place on September 2, 2023. Joey tried on several dresses for months, but none matched her description. Her stylist and friend Jared Eng stepped in and showed her Oscar de la Renta’s bridal collection, and she chose four looks from the collection.
Eng and King traveled to New York for the fitting with Fernando Garcia, Oscar da la Rent’as co-creative director, and chose King’s ultimate wedding dress. Joey’s wedding dress came with a dramatic strapless neckline and large fabric flower-petal paillettes.
