The Outer Range actress Isabel Arraiza’s parents, Antonio and Chabela Arraiza, are from Puerto Rico. Isabel is one of five kids of the Puerto Rican couple.
In an interview with Inkl, Isabel revealed that she grew up in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, the hometown of famous Puerto Rican rapper/singer Bad Bunny.
Isabel said, “I grew up in a very small town in Puerto Rico. Vega Baja is a tiny town in the north of the island, where nothing happens. Well, except Bad Bunny. I don’t think I ever met him, but I lived 15 minutes away from his home.”
On Instagram, Isabel has shared a few family pictures. One of her first posts on Instagram is of her graduating from the prestigious acting school Juilliard.
The picture shows Isabel and her parents standing outside of the school. The actress captioned the post, “We f—ing did it.”
On May 10, 2020, Isabel shared a thread of images as an appreciation post for her mom. The actress has never mentioned her mom’s name, but in the post’s comment section, many have referred to Isabel’s mom as Chabela.
Isabel wrote, “Mine. The Preetist one! I love you, mommy.” A month later, she shared an appreciation post for her dad. The photo was of her dad, Antonio, getting ready to have his breakfast.
Many might not know, but Isabel’s dad is a lawyer. In fact, their family has quite a stellar reputation in their homeland.
A Vega Baja website that collects historical data on its residence states that Antonio’s father, Fermin Arraiza, was a writer and was famous in the town for his work. Though a lawyer, Antonio has carried on his father’s penmanship.
He has shared a few of his writings on the websites, including one titled To Gardel and another, The Soul of the Vegabajeños. In one of his poems, titled In The Court, the writer talks about how he feels when he presents his cases in a room filled with honorable magistrates.
The Time Isabel’s Mom Helped Her Secure A Role
In an interview with BUILD Series, Isabel talked about how her mother helped her during an audition tape. At the time, Isabel had returned to Puerto Rico to shoot for the TV series Oath.
While in Puerto Rico, she received a call asking her to send an audition tape for the series Pearson. Despite being in Puerto Rico, Isabel was staying at a hotel set up for her, and she had tagged her mom with her.
As she was getting ready to tape herself, Isabel had asked her mom not to cause any disturbance. But her mother had other plans. Chabela sat in the same room as Isabel, and not only did she stay there, but kept commenting on her daughter for not giving her best.
After a few lines, Chabela started directing her daughter and giving her line reads. They ended up using the line read given by Chabela, and the next day, Isabel got a call from the creators of Pearson saying she got the role.
Isabel Arraiza’s Siblings: Does She Have Any Sisters?
Isabel Arraiza grew up with three sisters and a brother. One of her older sisters, Ana Marta Arraiza, is in the same field as her.
Ana Marta Arraiza is a musician and is part of a band. She is also a vocal coach/songwriter. On her Instagram, Ana has shared several photos of her performing with her band while entertaining large crowds.
She previously shared a video of her singing an acoustic cover of the song composed by Spanish composer Augusto Alguero Dasca. She has also previously shared several pictures with her siblings and her dad.
One of Isabel’s sisters runs a bed and breakfast lodge in Puerto Rico, Dos Aguas. Her name remains unknown, but it is through the lodge’s Instagram handle that Isabel’s sister shares a few family pictures.
The other two siblings of Isabel, Rossana and Antonio Jr, remain out of the limelight. Rossana is available on Instagram but has kept her handle private, and so has Antonio.
