Jaden McDaniels Family: Love For Basketball Is In The Family
The Timberwolves power forward, Jaden McDaniels, is one of two kids of Will McDaniels and Angela Washington. Jaden’s older brother, Jalen McDaniels, is also an NBA player and plays for the Toronto Raptors.
Previously, in an interview, Jalen shared that their pops instilled a strong work ethic between the two boys from a young age. If they wanted something, they would have to work around the house for a week to get it.
When both the boys expressed their desire to become NBA players, Will told them they would have to work to get there and that it wouldn’t be handed to them. Will’s strict approach was crystal clear in his 2018 interview with CBS.
Will said he made a rule that any coach or staff who wanted to contact his son would have to get through to him first. In his conversation with CBS, Will said he didn’t want anything to be communicated differently to his son vs what comes through from a coach and his staff.
Will McDaniels works at Boeing as a mechanic and never married his two sons’ mother, Angela Washington. Nonetheless, the two have maintained an amicable relationship, which helped in raising two NBA players.
Angela was interviewed by the YouTube channel Court Side Moms in 2021. In the video, Angela talked about what it was like raising two boys and shared a few of their childhood stories.
In her interview with Star Tribune, Angela shared she was hard on her sons. The mother of two boys wouldn’t allow Jaden and Jalen to play video games during the week.
