Dalton Knecht has no girlfriend and might be single. The Los Angeles Lakers’ 17th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft has tried to keep all his focus on the basketball court.
Knecht, 23, grew up in Colorado and played for two college teams, Northeaster JC and Northern Colorado, before he found his feet in Tennessee.
A relatively unknown player until his senior year, Knecht’s rise has been nothing but spectacular. He averaged 21.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists and was Tennessee’s highest scorer with 780 points. He only trailed Allan Houston’s record for single-season points by 26 points.
After the Lakers selected Dalton as the 17th overall pick, Tristan Da Silva was the 18th for Orlando Magic, and the Raptors selected Ja’Kobe Walter as the 19th pick. One of the most exciting players of the draft, Reed Sheppard, went to the Houston Rockets as the third overall pick.
The Lakers Newest Player, Dalton Knecht, And His Girlfriend
The former Vols, Dalton Knecht, has shared no photos with his girlfriend. Many fans believe the latest Lakers player is single and isn’t off the dating market.
Many guys of his age tend to show off their relationship on their social media handles. And if the guys don’t, their partner tags them in a few photos. But this isn’t true in Dalton’s case.
The basketball player hasn’t shared photos or videos that could hint at him having a romantic relationship. There also has not been anyone who has tagged the player and made it seem as if they are together.
Knecht usually gets tagged by brands he represents or Instagram pages about the NBA. If not those pages, Dalton usually gets tagged in pictures by his fans when they come across him during any events or outings.
On the draft day, players bring their families, and some bring their partners. In Dalton’s case, he only had his parents with him on the table and what looks like his agents and a few close friends.
But there’s also a chance that Knecht doesn’t want to go public with their relationship. Many athletes do not want the media to focus on their personal lives and make them pay attention to what they do on the court.
Maybe we will see more of Dalton and his partner—if he has one, once he gets settled in the NBA. There’s also a good chance that Dalton’s girlfriend wasn’t at the table with his family but in the stands.
Rob Dillingham’s girlfriend, Ramiyah Marie, attended the NBA Draft Day but wasn’t sat at the table with his family. Dillingham’s famous girlfriend cheered for him from the stands. A fan tagged her in the video, which shows Ramiyah screaming when Adam Silver called Rob’s name as the eighth pick of the night.
So, Dalton’s many fangirls should hold their horses before believing the Lakers player is single. And if he didn’t have a girlfriend previously, Knecht is now in Los Angeles, he probably wouldn’t have a hard time finding a lover there.
Meet Dalton Knecht’s Parents, Corey And Carrie Knecht
Dalton Knecht’s family moved to Denver, Colorado, from Fargo, North Dakota, when he was only one. Dalton’s love for the game comes from his dad, Corey Knecht.
Corey Knecht, a North Dakota native, is a 1990 Enderlin High School graduate. During his time at Enderlin, Corey was an All-State player and member of the 1990 State Tournament Team.
Last night on Draft Day, the Enderlin community celebrated Dalton’s success. Keith Finger, who played high school basketball with Corey, organized a watch party to see Dalton getting drafted.
In an interview with In Forum, Finger said, “He is so humble, and he worked so hard. I’ve never seen a kid work this hard to achieve his goal, and it’s absolutely amazing what he could do.”
After graduating from Enderlin, Corey enrolled at Mayville State University. Unlike his son, Corey never went professional with his basketball talent.
Corey made his son, Dalton, as big of a basketball fan as he was. The father-son duo would study Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Kyrie Irving, and Stephen Curry. They would spend every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 1:30 PM at the gym training.
Corey was a late bloomer, and he hoped it would be the same for his son. Dalton was only 5’4 as a high school freshman with no Division I offers as a senior.
But the growth spurt happened, and by his senior year, Dalton measured at 6’4. Corey’s mom, Carrie Knecht, would wait for her son alongside her husband in parking lots while Dalton got extra shots in empty Colorado gyms.
Unlike Corey, Carrie is somewhat active on Facebook. She has previously shared a few family photos and last night shared a photo of her and Corey getting ready to go to the draft.
After the Lakers drafted Knecht as the 17th overall pick, Corey said, “Historic. I mean, they are one of the greatest franchises in the NBA.
And then you talk about the best, probably, basketball player ever that laced up a pair of sneakers. It’s a huge accomplishment for him to be able to go to the Lakers and play alongside LeBron.”
