Adelayo Adedayo has no husband, as she has yet to tie the knot. The Responder actress remains conspicuously private about her dating life.
Adedayo, 35, stars as Dionne in Netflix’s latest sci-fiction drama, Supacell. The actress with Nigerian heritage portrays the fiance of Michael Lasaki-Brown, played by Tosin Cole.
The two British actors have great on-screen chemistry, making many believe they could be a real-life couple. But those are only rumors.
Adedayo debuted on TV screens in 2007 with The Bill. She gained popularity in the mid-2010s after starring as Viva Bennett in the TV series Some Girls. In recent years, she is known for her performance as Rachel Hargreaves in The Responder, for which she received a BAFTA nomination.
Who Is Adelayo Adedayo’s Husband? Is The Actress Married?
The British actress Adelayo Adedayo has no husband and isn’t married. The actress is yet to tie the knot and walk down the aisle.
There is a chance that the actress could have a special someone in her life, but she has yet to share him on her Instagram handle. On Instagram, Adelayo has shared a few posts, with those posts at times related to her work, and if not work, it is related to her trips to various parts of the world.
In December 2023, Adelayo enjoyed a short vacation to Mexico and shared a gallery of scenic images from her trip. After taking a break from Instagram, Adelayo revealed her next project, Supacell.
Earlier this year, in June, Adedayo attended the Cartier Queen’s Cup Polo, matching the green theme of the event with her floral dress. A few days later, Adedayo walked the red carpet of the Supacell’s premiere in London.
The actress walked the red carpet without holding anyone’s hand, which tells that the actress might be single currently. But there is a chance she wanted all the attention to be on her rather than her romantic relationship.
Despite working for 17 years in the industry, the actress hasn’t had any romantic linkups with her co-stars. There have been no rumors about the actress’s dating life, proving Adelayo maintains secrecy about her personal life.
So, there’s a chance she is seeing someone but doesn’t want to reveal that person to the world. She hasn’t talked about her love life in interviews, but maybe she will after feeling comfortable talking about it.
A few fans tried linking Adelayo with her Supacell co-star Tosin Cole, but the two seem to be only close friends with undeniably great on-screen chemistry. If it weren’t for their great on-screen chemistry, Supacell would have felt flat as the show revolves around their character.
Does Adelayo Adedayo’s Character, Dionne, Survive In Supacell?
Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t watched Supacell. Netflix’s latest show, Supacell, follows five ordinary South Londoners who discover they have extraordinary powers.
One of those who end up with superpowers is Dionne’s (Adedayo) fiance, Michael (Tosin Cole). The recently engaged couple’s life turns upside down after one day, Michael suddenly disappears.
Michael ends up with the power to travel through time and sees his future self warning him that his fiance, Dionne, will die in the coming months. But his future self gives him some hope by telling him to recruit the other four superheroes and fight the hooded villains.
And so Michael does. He finds Tazer, who has the power of invisibility. Andre has super strength, Rodney has speed and healing powers, and Sabrina has telekinetic abilities.
Throughout the six episodes, the five of them try fighting the hooded villains. In the final episode, five of them and Dionne are killed, but Michael goes back in time to stab the enemy before he kills them.
Yet the enemy can pick up a nearby gun and shoot at Mike, but Rodney uses his powers to move Mike. But sadly, Dionne is shot instead and dies in Michael’s arm. So, there you have it, folks; Dionne doesn’t survive in Supacell’s Season 1.
Many fans believe this is just a twist in the show, and Adelayo will return for Season 2. But the show’s creator, Rapman, has said, “There’s no coming back from the dead in the show.”
Rapman also revealed there was an alternative ending to the show in which Dionne didn’t die. He said, “The original ending was [Michael] didn’t tell Dionne that she will die. Michael didn’t tell her what he saw in the future. And he kept not telling her, even though she kept saying, ‘What is the problem? You’re coming home late. You’re just a different person.’
And he always figured that if I told her, she could never live her life. So she said, ‘Listen, I can’t take this anymore. I feel alone, and either you tell me, or I’m leaving.’ So he started realizing the only way to save you is to let you go.”
Adelayo Adedayo’s Family Life, What Is Her Ethnicity?
The actress Adelayo Adedayo’s parents are out of the limelight. She grew up in Canning Town and is the only child of her Nigerian parents.
In an interview with The Face, Adelayo talked about her childhood and her dreams of becoming an actress. As a child, Adelayo would walk around the house, creating scenarios out loud with different accents, acting against herself.
The actress explained, “It’s the idea of being able to step into another mind or life and explore that. Yeah, man, I just think acting’s beautiful.”
Initially, Adedayo’s mum wasn’t keen to see her daughter become an actress. The Nigerian mom wanted her daughter to become a lawyer. Adelayo graduated with a law degree at London’s Brunel University but chose acting as her career path.
And though Adelayo’s mum might have been against her career at first—nowadays, she must be a proud mom. In 2023, Adelayo’s mum attended the BAFTA ceremony with her daughter, who had received a nomination for Best Actress in Supporting Role for The Responder.
Speaking to HarpersBazaar, the Supacell actress said, “My mum was with me at the ceremony, and I was so happy that I’d brought her because it really grounded me and made the day real. I looked over at her, and she was just so happy. That was an incredibly proud moment for me.”
