Cameron J. Wright’s parents, Salesha and Philip J. Wright supported their son’s acting and music career since day one. Family Reunion’s Mazzi, began his acting journey in 2017 and has also ventured into the music industry.
Wright, 19, gained attention in 2019 after he starred as Mazzi McKellan in the TV series Family Reunion. He also starred in the TV movie A Family Reunion Christmas.
Cameron hasn’t shared too many details of his family in his interviews. The actor has tried to keep things about his personal life under wraps and it seems he is the only child of his parents.
In recent years, Cameron has diverted his attention to his music career. He is part of the R&B boy band, Pop Money, and last year, the band’s song Another Dimension featured in the movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

The Family Reunion star, Cameron J. Wright’s parents have remained out of the public limelight. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t supportive.
Unlike many child star’s parents, Salesha and Philip have distanced themselves from the media and have tried giving their son as much of a normal life as possible.
There are several cases where parents are more enthusiastic than the child actor when it comes to facing the media. But that isn’t the case with the Wright family. Cameron’s mother, Salesha Alaniz, has kept her Instagram handle private, but her Facebook account is public.
Since 2021, Salesha hasn’t shared much on her account, but previously the proud mom would share clips from her son’s show. One of Salesha’s last posts on her Facebook account was a clip from Cameron’s TV movie Miracles Across 125th Street.
Previously, in an interview with Pop-Culturalist, Cameron said he loved music since he was a baby and his mom instead of suppressing his talent, helped him sharpen it more. After learning her son wanted to take guitar lessons, Salesha asked around and found it would be better if he started on piano and moved to guitar.
So, she started taking Cameron to piano lessons and later took him to guitar lessons. On his Instagram handle, Cameron has shared appreciation posts for his mom.
In May 2021, Cameron shared a throwback picture of him and his mom, on Mother’s Day. He wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day to the most amazing mom in the world. I love you so much and don’t know where I’d be without you. Thank you for everything. I’m so grateful to have you.”
A few months later, Cameron and his mom, with the rest of the family took a trip to Hawaii. It is rumored that Cameron’s parents have separated, as Salesha hasn’t shared any family pictures involving Philip.
Philip’s Facebook handle shows that he is settled with someone else and has three kids. Despite his parents’ alleged divorce, Cameron still shares a strong bond with his dad and has previously shared a post for him on Father’s Day.
Cameron wrote, “Happy Father’s Day Dad. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me. You mean so much to me and I’m super grateful to have you in my life. I love you.”

Does Cameron J. Wright Have Any Siblings?
Cameron seems to be the only child of Salesha Alaniz and Philip Wright. Though he might have half-siblings, we can’t say that with certainty as the actor hasn’t mentioned much about his family.
But it looks like Cameron shares a strong bond with his mom’s side family, and has previously shared a few pictures with his cousins on his Instagram handle.
One of Cameron’s cousins, Dyson McCutcheon, plays football at the University of Washington. Dyson is a defensive back and is in his junior year at Washington. Last season, he played in seven games and made a few tackles.
He graduated from Bishop Amat High School and was named to MaxPreps’ 2020 preseason All-California team as an all-purpose team. He was also named to the All-CIF Southern Section Division I first team in his junior year.
Cameron’s other cousin, Deuce Weston, has followed in Dyson’s footsteps. He plays running back and will graduate from Lawndale High School next year. In April, Deuce shared several posts of him visiting various colleges interested in signing him, including the University of Kansas, Arizona, and California.

Is Cameron J. Wright In A Relationship?
The actor has never given any hints that he is pursuing a romantic relationship. He hasn’t shared any photos on his Instagram handle that could start a rumor about his dating life.
Cameron seems focused on building his career as an actor and musician. After wrapping up filming Family Reunion in 2022, Cameron has diverted his attention to his music career.
In 2020, Wright was part of the boy band, NCK short for Ncredible Crazy Kids. The American comedian and television host Nick Cannon formed the band in 2020.
The five-member band, NCK, was formed after an online audition process that allowed applicants to post a video of themselves on Instagram. YM, Cameron, Connor Finnerty, AJ Boogie, and Rahja Fuller were the first five members.
But fast forward to 2024, the band has changed its name to Pop Money and YM has left the group. YM was part of the group until 2023, but he wasn’t seen with the group during Grammy night earlier this year.
In 2023, the band took a huge leap as their song, Another Dimension, featured in the movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. In May, the band released their new song, Catch A Vibe, and are looking to release their first full-length album soon.
